Do you think it's fine to re-format my HARD DRIVE?

Okay, MY PC now is currently on WINDOWS 7. But files of MY WINDOWS XP IS STILL ON E DRIVE. WHILE WINDOWS 7 is on DRIVE C. Since I'm not using anymore that rubbish XP can I Format it?
