Sure. Why not. McCain flopped on climate change, off shore drilling and abortion rights. Romney flopped on gay marriage and universal health care to name a couple of things. Ronald Reagan went from the tax cut champion to raising taxers almost twenty times without raising a conservative eyebrow. Hypocrisy is not only widely accepted in conservative circles, it is a core value among many conservatives.
